Winter of it’s own kind, Grishma Singh, Runner up, Poush 2074

Nights longer and days shorter
Winter has its own nature

Boots, coats and mufflers never go out of trend
And a bonfire is always enjoyed among the friends

Christmas and New Year are its delight
Giving rise to a myriad of hopes and dreams to take flight

The whispering of a cool air seems pretty disturbing
Whereas the warmth of the sun is quite galvanizing

Some have roof to beat winter
With plethora of blankets, warm clothes and heater

On the other hand, there are some without a shelter
With a teeming search of something nicer and warmer

Winters are often enamored with snowflakes on the ground
The silvery rain from the clouds seems to be quite profound

Bundling up in jackets and feeding tummy to the fullest
Children’s lacing their skates with smile pleasant and purest

Waking up at six in the morning seems quite a battle
As black sky with shining stars are still above the castle

The birds singing on top of the naked trees
And, the plain white sheet beneath are perfect for the skis

Embracing a new day with a warm cup of coffee
Nothing’s as comely as children’s act when given their favorite toffee

The breath turning into a warm vapor
Like the boiling of tea in a kettle with a cover

The geese flying towards the south
For basking and dancing with joviality and youth

The tortuous branches of the trees are somewhat gruesome
Seemingly the frozen lakes are absolutely view some

Drizzling rains are harbingers of a new season
Waving hello and goodbye between each chasm

Albeit the fact, that it has traces of barren land and fallen leaves,
It looks quite phlegmatic and impassive outstanding every nasty peeves

Some abhor winter,
Some adore winter,
Regardless of one’s likeliness
Winter though cold has its own worthiness
